GLEIS 11
Gleis 11 is a Munich-based Anatolian psychedelic rock band that makes music covering the period of Turkish guest workers who came to work in Germany. They want to express these people's journey via psychedelic melodies. The band consists of the children and grandchildren of the first guest workers in the 1960s and 1970s and new-wave immigrants. Gleis 11's music combines old Turkish folk and rock music. They blend the old and the new to show how Turkish and German cultures have come together over the years. Through their music, Gleis 11 respects the history of Turkish workers in Germany. Also, it shows a new way of looking at things by the words from Cem Karaca, Erkin Koray, Barış Manço, and other legendary names of Anatolian psychedelic rock music.
